Flash Back Friday presents Spud Webb!

Most basketball fans hear the name Spud Webb and think of a very undersized, incredible dunker that shocked the world in vintage NBA dunk contest, and they should but there is a lot more to Spud Webb the player and man than dunks. Spud Webb, a 5-7 point guard from Dallas, Texas, always used his lightning quickness and rare jumping ability to out duel his opponents through out high school, college and into the pros. Of course he always had to over come doubters because of his height but always did so with no problem. Over a 13yr career, Spud averaged 10pts per game and recorded around 8000pts and 4300 ast which is good considering that many doubted that he would last at all in the league. He played for the Piston, Hawks,  Kings, Timberwolves, and Magic throughout his NBA career. He laid it down for the small ballers of the world, proving that they could succeed in the midst of trees. Oh yeah, and he could put on a show above the rim as well!!! We still remember how you smashed Dominique in the dunk contest!!!!    Spud, you're the man.
